Womens Institute

Dear Andrew,

I am so sorry you had such a stressful day on Monday, with your pig herdsman being away and then being let down with the stand you had arranged – it must have been a nightmare, particularly as you had to be down at the hall at 5am.

Our members enjoyed their visit to your farm enormously and were delighted being able to see the breeding sows and piglets in such close quarters. Many of them had probably never been able to see a breeding unit in action before and they were full of enthusiasm when they returned.

Quite how you managed it all as well as producing the delicious pork for the hog roast, I don’t know, but I just hope you did good business at the farm shop to make up for the many people who were on hand to answer questions from our members and your own time, which must have involved the entire day. We are truely greatful and our organisaing commitee were most insistant that I write and make sure you realise how very much we appreciated the effort which went into making the day a success. Everyone said they had never tasted such delicious pork – and there was no shortage of volunteers to carry some home!

Thank you very much indeed from us all,

With best wishes

Ann Cross
